We have been involved in the discussions about inclusion of young TEDDIP<\/strong> – youth with intellectual disabilities – into the community-based support structures since February 2016, since the early beginning of TEDDIP\u2019Europe<\/a> project.
\nNow after extensive research in each project partner country, productive meetings, experiential mobilities of young TEDDIP and educators, we are almost ready to present you what we have learnt, discovered and developed.<\/p>\n

TEDDIP\u2019Europe partners met in Perpignan where they were hosted by IME Al Casal<\/a> \u2013 an institute that supports children, adolescents and young adults with medium and severe intellectual disabilities and autism spectrum disorders. During 2 days of the meeting (7-8 September) project partners have discussed the results already achieved, have validated TEDDIP\u2019Europe Good Practice Guide<\/em><\/strong> and TEDDIP\u2019Europe Educational Videos<\/em><\/strong> that both contain 8 different modules on innovative pedagogies and practices used across partner countries in the work with young TEDDIP.<\/p>\n

Final project products will be presented during the TEDDIP Day in Palermo<\/strong> that will take place this autumn. We will invite all interested to learn about the project, discuss on the quality of support structures for youth with intellectual disabilities, exchange working practices and methodologies and to reinforce professional networking in the field.
\nFinally, TEDDIP\u2019Europe Recommendations \u201cWhite Book\u201d<\/strong> will be presented with the suggestions to institutions at local\/ National and European levels to enhance the rights of young TEDDIP and foster their inclusion.<\/p>\n

TEDDIP\u2019Europe<\/a><\/strong> project focuses on the implementation of Recommendation CM\/Rec(2010)2 of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe to member states on deinstitutionalisation<\/strong> and community living of youth with disabilities<\/strong>.
\nThis recommendation very explicitly states that building of new institutions should be discouraged by refusing to approve and fund proposals for this type of projects, while public authority action, strategic planning and coordination should focus on:<\/p>\n
