{"id":53466,"date":"2017-08-22T11:45:44","date_gmt":"2017-08-22T09:45:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cesie.org\/news\/funkino-a-short-animated-film-to-encourage-migrants-inclusion\/"},"modified":"2019-04-18T16:18:08","modified_gmt":"2019-04-18T14:18:08","slug":"funkino-a-short-animated-film-to-encourage-migrants-inclusion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/news\/funkino-a-short-animated-film-to-encourage-migrants-inclusion\/","title":{"rendered":"FunKino: a short animated film to encourage\u00a0migrants\u00a0inclusion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>What if \u00a0we can <strong>rewrite dominant narrations about immigration<\/strong>?<\/p>\n<p>How can we <strong>stimulate debate<\/strong> about the role of\u00a0<span class=\"_5afx\"><span class=\"_58cm\">work<\/span><\/span>\u00a0on the path to <strong>broader\u00a0<span class=\"_5afx\"><span class=\"_58cm\">migrants<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"_5afx\"><span class=\"_58cm\">inclusion<\/span><\/span><\/strong>?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.zabbara.org\/it\/funkino-il-corto-di-animazione-sul-mondo-del-lavoro\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer\"><strong>FunKino<\/strong><\/a> it is a new model of <strong>migrants\u00a0working inclusion\u00a0<\/strong>through <strong>participatory approach to cultural production<\/strong> centered on the active involvement of <strong>15 young asylum-seekers and recipients of international protection<\/strong>\u00a0 and <strong>a team of professionals from diverse creative sectors i<\/strong>n the process of film production.<\/p>\n<p>The main aim of the project &#8211; created by\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.zabbara.org\/it\/home\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Zabbara<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0&#8211; is to <strong>produce cultural contents<\/strong> that reflects our society <strong>multiculturalism<\/strong> and the necessity to encourage <strong>young migrants working inclusion in the cultural industry<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In particular, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zabbara.org\/it\/funkino-il-corto-di-animazione-sul-mondo-del-lavoro\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer\"><strong>FunKino<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0will consist in :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The creation of a\u00a0<strong>training laboratory<\/strong>\u00a0for\u00a0<strong>15 migrant youth<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211; asylum-seekers and recipients of international protection, between the ages of 18 and 28; participation will also be open to at most five unaccompanied migrant youth &#8211; , which will lead to the\u00a0<strong>participatory writing<\/strong>\u00a0of a film script through the use of diverse styles and languages typical of storytelling, fairy tale and illustration. The end product of this phase will be the storyboard of the short film;<\/li>\n<li>The realization of an\u00a0<strong>animated short film<\/strong>\u00a0emerging from the narrative ideas of the participants in the lab and aimed to stimulate a public debate that interrogates the relationship between\u00a0<strong>work<\/strong>and condition of migrants in Italy and Europe;<\/li>\n<li>The organization of a\u00a0<strong>public event<\/strong>\u00a0in Palermo for the screening of the short film, the presentation of the project\u00a0and the activation of the public debate. The event will take the form of a party in the Ballar\u00f2\u00a0market and conclude with music and dance;<\/li>\n<li>The launch of an\u00a0<strong>ideas<\/strong><strong>contest<\/strong>\u00a0for FunKino participants to present potential film subjects. A jury of experts from the field will analyze the proposals to generate a list of five finalists, from which they will then select one winner.
