Supervision in art therapy was the main topic discussed by Art Therapists <\/strong>and Project Mangers from all partner organisations of the project, CREATE\u00a0 – Creative Therapy in Europe, <\/strong>during the two-day partnership meeting held in Berlin and hosted by Deutsche Gesellschaft f\u00fcr Theatertherapie e.V <\/strong>on 15th<\/sup> and 16th<\/sup> May 2017.<\/p>\n

The meetings main goal was to define what supervision in art therapy means and to plan the peer supervision that will take place among the Art Therapists. Supervision in CREATE will be used to provide added value to the piloting, ensure quality is maintained and support the Art Therapists in their therapy practices at local level with 60 refugees and migrants in total. As an outcome from this work, the project will also produce a training module specifically aimed at the supervisors of Arts Therapists working with Refugees and Migrants.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Furthermore, each country carried out a research phase which included focus groups<\/strong> with migrants and refugees and interviews with stakeholders <\/strong>in migrant and refugee settlement services. This partnership meeting was the opportunity to share the results, redefining\u00a0 and adapting the direction of the piloting phase towards the real needs of the participants and end users of the CREATE learning resources.<\/p>\n

The meeting in Berlin was useful to define the next steps of the project and to guarantee quality interventions for the future.\u00a0 The next partner meeting will be held in Paris in October and hosted by Compagnie Arti-Zanat\u2019 (France). The meeting will focus on the development of the Toolkit for Resettlement stakeholders <\/strong>to support further use of CREATE method and creative therapies, which is one of the final products of the project.<\/p>\n

During the next months in Palermo, CESIE <\/strong>will work with a group of 12 migrants, refugees and asylum seekers to implement dance therapy <\/strong>to help them to integrate into the community, express their emotions, and break down language barriers.<\/p>\n

CREATE is co-funded by KA2 Strategic Partnership for ADULT education action of the Erasmus+ Programme that aims to improve the integration of refugees and migrants with mental health problems through the development of Arts Therapies resources, and developing innovative learning approaches to support the professional development of new and existing Creative Therapists.<\/p>\n

It brings together 7 organisations with specific expertise in the development of training programmes, creative therapies, refugee and migrant support and mental health services.:<\/p>\n
