Enhancing the youth worker\u2019s skills<\/strong>\u00a0by making them understand how to think about a\u00a0mobile application<\/strong>\u00a0and how to develop and elaborate it. This was the main aim of the project\u00a0WAPPY\u00a0\u2013 Whats\u2019s App Youth!\u00a0<\/a>workshop<\/strong>\u00a0that took place on the 29th<\/sup>\u00a0and 30th<\/sup>\u00a0of March in Palermo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the Local consultation\u2019s workshops, youth workers and young people came up with concrete and creative ideas of APPs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first day of the workshop gave the youth workers and young people the possibility to develop an idea to an App<\/strong> which, according to them, would help and support them as youth workers<\/strong>. After an introduction of the expert on ICT, and an interactive Quiz, the participants has been split into 3 groups<\/strong> according to their proposals and ideas. Thus, three groups have started to work together on the first draft development of a prototype of an APP<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The second day of the workshop, the groups have finalized their APP and have presented it to the other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The three APP ideas<\/strong> that came out of the workshop were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. NeedYou<\/em><\/strong>, where the idea is to match people\u2019s donations with the real needs of the local centres via a system of awards;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. BienvenueHere<\/em><\/strong>, the idea is to give practical information to foreign students\/volunteers that arrive in a new city;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. FoodTopia<\/em><\/strong>, a social App that gather people to meet and cook together traditional food according to their country and their wishes.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    The APP ideas will further be integrated in the Toolkit for Youth workers, translated in all partners language.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    WAPPY! is a project co-funded by Erasmus+ programme with the goal of training young people and youth workers in entrepreneurship through ICT-Mobile Application based mechanisms and non-formal methodologies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
