\u201cComing together is a beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success.\u201d<\/em> – Henry Ford<\/p>\n

Youth workers<\/strong> from around Sicily came together and got fully immersed in self-discovery<\/strong>, development of the skills and competences that are fundamental for employability<\/strong>. The participants tested EAGLES Training Package<\/strong> (developed within a framework of EAGLES project) over the course of 5 days in February whilst strengthening crucial skills that employers<\/strong> expect young people to possess.<\/p>\n

The first module focused on self-awareness<\/strong> allowing participants to become more aware of themselves and to learn about the skills they have. It is proved that if we are aware of our strengths and weaknesses, we are concerned of our goals, we are in better position to know which job can satisfy our needs for professional development.<\/p>\n

Positivity<\/strong> – another extremely important skill – was cultivated and it was confirmed that experiencing positive emotions create more positive emotions. Employers usually are looking for employees who have a positive attitude and who are enthusiastic and excited about the job.<\/p>\n

Moreover, youth workers gained numerous benefits from mastering creativity<\/strong> and critical thinking<\/strong> skills, such as better control of their own learning and empathy for other points of view.<\/p>\n

Since the aspiring leader or a dedicated employee must encompass good communication<\/strong> and team work<\/strong> skills, youth workers were involved in activities that help to solve specific social problems such as work-related conflicts, foster collaboration and upsurge productivity at the workplace.<\/p>\n

Another inspiring training day participants had a chance to look at their intrinsic and extrinsic motivation<\/strong> as motivation improves performance, leads to higher and persistent effort and directs to a certain goal.<\/p>\n

Finally, youth workers explored the concept of resilience<\/strong>, how it manifests in everyday life and its relevance and implications for young jobseekers in particular. The participants were reassured that resilience develops as we mature and as we gain experience and better problem-solving and self-management skills.<\/p>\n

An evaluation and discussion session was conducted on the final training day in order to gather feedback on the training materials so that EAGLES partner organisations can accordingly update and improve EAGLES Training Package.<\/p>\n
