It took place on 17<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;February 2017 in Marseille (France).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It gave an overview of the experiences made in the piloting phase and present good practice examples of how to successfully&nbsp;<strong>enhance and validate the competences<\/strong>&nbsp;gained by the young participants of piloting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the agenda of the event:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Thematic Workshops<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Recognition of social competences with the LEVEL5 methodology, by Sabine Wiemann and Julia Busche, BUPNET;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recognition and valorization: methods and tools, by Pascal Chaumette,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/id6tm.org\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer\">ID6<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Panel discussion<\/strong>: \u201cTowards a better recognition of volunteering \u2013 chances and challenges\u201d, with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/adice.asso.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/IO1-UK-web.pdf\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer\">Competences\u2019 Portfolio<\/a>, by Fanny Dufr\u00e9chou, ADICE;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recognition and valorization: methods and tools, by Pascal Chaumette,&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/id6tm.org\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer\">ID6<\/a>;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Vincent leads the South East branch of the institute of Commitment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Steven, Paula and R\u00e9mi, volunteers that took part in the piloting phase were given the floor to speak about their specific experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The volunteering organisations that have successfully implemented the VALLEY approach were awarded the<strong>&nbsp;VALLEY label<\/strong>. The conference motivated other stakeholders to implement the VALLEY approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the conference the&nbsp;<strong>Award winners<\/strong>&nbsp;of the European award presented their trophies and were given the opportunity to present their approach to make the volunteering activities&nbsp; an empowering experience for young people. The two best project ideas were chosen by an international jury and the winners were invited to the Award ceremony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The two winners were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>AISEC, Austria:&nbsp;<\/strong>The&nbsp;<strong>Leadership Development Assessment&nbsp;<\/strong>is a questionnaire to evaluate the learning outcome in their projects (on the right);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Don Bosco, Belgium: Groeiboekje\u2019<\/strong>&nbsp;means literally \u201cbook of growth\u201d(on the left).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"810\" height=\"1080\" src=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/media\/Award-Winners.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-32761\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/media\/Award-Winners.jpg 810w, https:\/\/cesie.org\/media\/Award-Winners-480x640.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) 810px, 100vw\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/media\/Award-Winners.jpg\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The winners of the award received a Certificate, their travel and accommodation to Marseille and their idea was published in newsletters and articles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The VALLEY methodology was finalized and all the main outcomes was rolled into a unique&nbsp;<strong>\u201cVALLEY toolbox\u201d&nbsp;<\/strong>available on&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/learning.vita-eu.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer\" title=\"\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">learning.vita-eu.org<\/a> consisting of a combination of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>a detailed description of the LEVEL5 validation methodology, tailored on volunteering informal learning setting and tested through the piloting phase;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the volunteers mentoring guidelines targeted on staff\/trainers working in volunteer organisations, with specific modules on how to deal with disadvantaged young target groups, like NEETs;good practice examples from the piloting phase;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>practical information on how to join the VALLEY community and how to use the VALLEY e-platform.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For further&nbsp;information, please visit VALLEY website, please contact: <a href=\"mailto:youth@cesie.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">youth@cesie.org<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The winners of the VALLEY European award presented their approach to make the volunteering activities an empowering experience for young people.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":12,"featured_media":152069,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[27065],"tags":[],"unita":[],"class_list":["post-53280","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-youth"],"acf":[],"aioseo_notices":[],"aioseo_head":"\n\t\t<!-- All in One SEO Pro 4.9.9 -
