As a final step towards the achievements of the goals set by the LangMOOCs – Language Massive Open Online Courses<\/a> project, the partners came together in Hemel Hempstead, UK, to prepare and hold the international multiplier event, which was hosted by Community Action Dacorum on Friday November 25th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

The event , which was anticipated by a final meeting among the project partners the day before, saw the participation of representatives of all partner organisations but also the involvement of external participants having an interest in learning about how to produce language resources using the innovative tool of MOOCs and online platforms such as Moodle.<\/p>\n

The event kicked off with an introduction to the project made by the project coordinator, Active Citizens Partnership, and a description of the technical features of the Moodle platform used to develop the language MOOCs, made by the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, NTNU. After that, the participants were divided in roundtables addressing different themes of the LangMOOC toolkit, the main project output, and namely contents, assessment and community.<\/p>\n

During these workshops, the participants had the chance to practically experience the tools offered by the Moodle platform to create contents of a language course, exercises and activities, or to discuss the main features of a language MOOC. At the end of the workshops, each group shared the work carried out in its table with all other attendees, and were invited to give their feedback about the event and the practical sessions.<\/p>\n

The final meeting and event marked the final steps of the 2-year project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme, which has produced a number of useful outputs such as the Open Educational Resources for language learning in 5 languages and the LangMOOCs Toolkit on how to develop a successful language MOOC, which will be soon made available in an interactive version.<\/p>\n

The end of the project will also be marked by the organisation of other local multiplier events to be organied by all project partners in their country: \u00a0Active Citizens Partnership<\/a>\u00a0(Coordinator – Greece), CESIE<\/a>\u00a0(Italy),\u00a0Iberika education group gGmbH<\/a>\u00a0(Germany),\u00a0Dacorum Council for Voluntary Service<\/a>\u00a0(United Kingdom) and\u00a0Norwegian University of Science and Technology<\/a>\u00a0(Norway).<\/p>\n
