The closing event of the ENPI of Italy-Tunisia cross-border cooperation<\/strong> programme was held at the Royal Marine Arsenal of Palermo on October 18th<\/sup> 2016.<\/p>\n

The event, organised by the Department of programming of the region of Sicily as the joint managing authority of the programme<\/strong>, aimed to present the results achieved by the projects funded within the programme, offering over 200 beneficiaries or experts of cross-border cooperation coming from Italy and Tunisia a moment to share their experience.<\/p>\n

Moreover, the meeting boosted a reflection about any hurdles met in both the management and implementation of the cross-border cooperation projects, but it also encouraged networking with a view to enhance cooperation between the two shores of the Mediterranean.<\/p>\n

CESIE participated in the event to present the results achieved by the project<\/strong> TATRAC \u2013 Tissu Associatif et Transfert de Connaissances<\/strong><\/a>, which ended on the\u00a0 July 31st<\/sup> 2016, and in particular by distributing some copies of the main project\u2019s product, the Guide for knowledge transfer<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The event was attended by many personalities, among them Farhat Ben Souissi, consul of the Tunisian Republic in Palermo, and Vanessa De Bruyn, representative for the Europan Commission, who emphasised the importance of a cross-border cooperation based on an Italian-Tunisian partnership able to involve the civil society.<\/p>\n

After the institutional greetings, the beneficiaries had he opportunity to make some statements about their experience in the projects.<\/p>\n

The ENPI Italy-Tunisia cross-border cooperation programme 2007 \u2013 2013 funded 31 projects, with an overall budget of about EUR 25,2 million, in several areas of action, such as food farming, fishing, tourism, the SMEs, energy and innovation, cultural and natural heritage.<\/p>\n

The event, which also represented an opportunity to present the new ENI Cooperation Programme 2014 \u2013 2020<\/u><\/strong>, <\/u>went on with a panel discussion between experts and with an artistic representation, but it also allowed the sharing of some informal moments which marked the implementation of each one of the 31 financed projects, through the presentation titled \u201cThe human side of cooperation\u201d.<\/em><\/p>\n
