The first Design Meeting of the ALdia project was organised at CESIE\u2019s office o<\/em>n the 27th<\/sup> of June 2016. ALd\u00eca – Accessible Learning design, implementation and accreditation<\/em><\/strong> is a project aimed at contributing to the removal of barriers that prevent students with disabilities from participating or completing vocational training or university learning paths.<\/p>\n

The first meeting of the focus group involved a sample of 8 people representing the main target groups of the project. The participants carried out a joint reflection about the needs of the students with disabilities and of the professionals in the fields of higher education and vocational training, and they identified some of the main obstacles that disabled students often have to face in their training paths, as well as the essential steps that should be taken to ensure greater accessibility through the development and use of assistive technology tools.<\/p>\n

The outcome of the focus group together with the results of the needs analysis will inform a needs analysis report, which will prepare the ground for developing a MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) addressed to university teachers and vocational trainers with the aim to produce a real as well as positive impact on systems and policies in the field of education and training in Europe. The MOOC will be structured in Open Educational Resources (OER) so as to be easily accessible to everyone, and it will allow the participants to obtain a certificate based on ECVET system.<\/p>\n
