On 16th<\/sup> and 17th<\/sup> of June, the second meeting of the regional consortium of JudEx+: Towards a justice suitable for children in cases of sexual violence against children<\/em>, a two-year lasting project, co-funded by the Rights, Equality and Citizenship Programme of the DG Justice of the European Commission, which promotes the improvement of judicial procedures in order to ensure a healthy participation of children involved in them, was held in Palermo at CESIE\u2019s office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project partners, including Know & Can (Bulgaria), Frederick University (Cyprus), Folkuniversitetet (Sweden), University of Primorska (Slovenia), Rinova (UK) and the coordinator Hope for Children UNCRC<\/a> Policy Center (Cyprus) have, on this occasion, compared what has been developed in terms of research in their respective countries, giving life to an interesting debate on the issues of justice and have brought contributions and reflections on the construction of a training course for legal, health and education professionals. This course, to which has been paid particular attention in the second day of the meeting through in-depth workshops, is designed to strengthen \u2013 and where non-existent to build \u2013 skills and knowledge of judicial operators who are linked to the child, whether they are social workers, judges, lawyers, teachers, as well as to ensure a better experience of children who access the justice system as victims of sexual abuse through an approach that takes into account their social context and the needs related to their personal development but that also goes in the direction of a child-friendly information strategy regarding their rights and the legal processes, through the development of specifically designed materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
