\"tatrac-sicilia-luglio-2015\"<\/a>From July 27th<\/sup> to 31st<\/sup>, CESIE hosted a series of training activities organised in the framework of the project \u00a0TATRAC \u2013 Tissu Associatif et Transfert de Connaissances<\/em><\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

TATRAC is a cross-border cooperation project funded within the ENPI Italy-Tunisia programme 2007-2013<\/strong>, aiming to encourage civil society to play an active role in the innovation process, supporting associations, enhancing scientific knowledge and the sharing of good practices, and easing the development of a culture of innovation.<\/p>\n

With this view, CESIE, with the contribution of other Sicilian partners of the project (University of Catania and SO.GE.V.I) planned\u00a0 a series of activities aimed at easing an exchange of good practices among associations based in Tunisia and Sicily. Over 20 paticipants representing Tunisian associations active in different fields ranging from culture, safeguard of cultural heritage and entrepreneurship to health, food and farming, were therefore involved in a series of activities that were held in Sicily between July 27th<\/sup> and 31st<\/sup> 2015.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The activities were divided in three training sessions which were held at CESIE\u2019s office, relevant to the field of interest of each Sicilian partner of the project: education,\u00a0 culture and project management, environment and renewable energies, agriculture and food-farming.<\/p>\n

Additionally, some visits were organized in order to boost a direct exchange between the local reality In Sicily and the Tunisian associations\u2019 representatives involved in the project activities. The participants had therefore the chance to visit and attend the presentation of a sample of associations based in Sicily which were selected last June. Specifically, the group had the opportunity to visit two associations active in the fields of culture, local development and information such as\u00a0Libera<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Mobilita Palermo<\/strong><\/a>, two associations working in the environment and renewable energy sector such as PUSH<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and OsservaRAEE<\/strong><\/a>, and a series of stakeholders working in the field of agriculture and food-farming in the area of Ragusa such as SVIMED<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0the\u00a0Municipality of\u00a0Vittoria<\/strong><\/a>, visiting the farm cooperative Piano Stella<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and its greenhouse for the production of \u201cdatterino\u201d, a variety of cherry tomato.<\/p>\n

The activities ended on July 31st<\/sup> afternoon, with the Tunisian participants taking part to the conference \u201cThe future of Civil Society Organisations in Maghreb and Middle-East\u201d<\/em> and the intercultural evening, both organized in the framework of the projects\u00a0CaBuReRa \u2013 Capacity Building Relay Race<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0TATRAC<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
