The seventh month of the Action for Change project lifecycle was marked by the publication of the desk-based literature report on the practices and regulations regarding women victims of domestic violence (DV) and their children, and by an international double-event hosted in Budapest, Hungary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The national reports drafted by the partner organisations in the UK, Romania, Hungary and Italy on the situation in the respective countries have given the basis for the transnational report which summarises the main national findings and informs the further development of pilot services in the partner countries. The summary report will be issued shortly and published also in CESIE\u2019s\u00a0Digital Library<\/a>, which already offers the Italy report free for download both in English and in Italian. The document contains information and data about the prevalence of domestic violence and of social care for children in Italy, and highlights the main gaps in provision for women victims of domestic violence and who are at risk of having their children taken into social care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A representative group of domestic violence survivors, the Women\u2019s Shadow Board (WSB), joined the partnership at the Steering Committee meeting and Transnational Workshop in Budapest in early July 2015. The progress of the project, the upcoming activities and strategies were discussed together with the survivors, who shared their experience of violence and of contact with social services in their own countries to shed light on the type of service that is still needed and missing for victims of DV in the UK, Romania, Hungary and Italy. The meeting also consisted in a workshop for the WSB to stimulate self-empowerment and to learn visual strategies of awareness-raising through photography.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the summer period, the locally-tailored pilot projects for women victims of DV will begin in all project countries. In Italy, the pilot project will be delivered in the Umbria Region by our partner Borgorete, while CESIE will be involved in the longitudinal evaluation of the service since the beginning of September.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The partnership will meet again in October in Bucharest, Romania, to discuss the progress and future activities in the framework of the Action for Change project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
