\"DISCO<\/a>The work carried out by the CESIE to support NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) young people goes ahead, and a new Erasmus+ project entitled DISCO – DIgital Second Chance Opportunities started! DISCO is a follow-up to the LION<\/a> project, which aims at supporting professionals working with this target group.<\/p>\n

The DISCO project is funded by the Erasmus plus Programme<\/a>, the new EU programme for education, training, youth and sport, and it\u2019s a strategic partnership for adult education (Strategic partnership aims to support the development, transfer and\/or implementation of innovative practices at European level).<\/p>\n

DISCO is an online knowledge and quality centre where digital assessment tools, good practices and training in second chance education can be shared and will be made available to practitioners, policy makers and all people involved in second chance education. In this online community teachers and trainers can share, discuss, develop and value their practices and ideas.<\/p>\n

The project aims at improving the quality of adult education and Second Chance Schools, reducing early school leaving and mainstreaming youngsters and citizens to regular education and employment.<\/p>\n

The project\u2019s activities were launched at the partnership kick-off meeting, held in Monchengladbach, Germany on 4th<\/sup> and 5th<\/sup> of December.<\/p>\n

During the meeting partners discussed the expected results and the next activities to be implemented during the lifespan of the project.<\/p>\n

The project will last two years and seven partners from five countries (Germany, Netherlands, Poland, Italy and UK) will be involved.<\/p>\n

During this two year-project NEET young people will be involved in the project\u2019s activities including testing an e-portfolio and living a work experience abroad.<\/p>\n
