\"diritti-civili-big\"<\/a>The European Day of Civil Justice is celebrated on 25th<\/sup> October. This important day is meant to bring justice closer to citizens and to inform them about their rights, promoting the work of the Council of Europe and the European Commission in the field of civil justice.<\/p>\n

Established on 5th<\/sup> June 2003, this day is celebrated on 25th<\/sup> October each year by European states organizing several events. This celebration aims to bring civil justice closer to citizens, offering them the opportunity to learn about their rights through simulations of procedures, information sessions for students, justice professionals and the wider audience and with events such as open day in courts.<\/p>\n

This information day is a chance to to inform all European citizens, students and people working in the field of justice about all the initiatives and projects the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ) promotes in all countries for this special day. These institutions invite their Member States to notify any event organized to this aim so as to better inform European citizens .<\/p>\n

The European Day of Civil Justiceis part of the initiatives promoted by DG Justice and it is in line with the two major programs on the matter: Justice and REC (Rights, Equality and Citizenship) 2014-2020.<\/p>\n

The Justice program aims to promote the development of a European area of \u200b\u200bjustice based on mutual recognition and mutual confidence and, in particular, judicial cooperation in civil and criminal matters, legal training to promote a common legal culture, a easier access to justice in Europe and a number of initiatives regarding drug policy. As for the REC program, it focuses instead on the elimination of discrimination and the protection of citizenship, through activities such as the promotion of non-discrimination, the rights of people with disabilities, promotion of gender equality and the rights deriving from the European Union citizenship; the fight against racism, xenophobia, homophobia and other forms of intolerance; prevention of violence against children, young people, women and other vulnerable groups; data protection; safeguarding the rights of the consumer.<\/p>\n
