\"Volunteers<\/a>On 13th<\/sup>&14th<\/sup> May the ViPER project partnership met in Palermo to discuss about the features of the Europe-wide course on playwork.<\/p>\n

The Volunteers in Playwork – Employment Routes is a two-year project, supported by the LLP Programme (Transfer of Innovation action).<\/p>\n

Originally created in the UK, the course is dedicated to educators, parents, young people who wish to expand their competences in the field of playwork. The Europe-wide course will be made up of a learner and a tutor pack and will include practical activities to carry out with children as well as theoretical notions on the importance of play and on other aspects, such as health and safety requirements and how to create play spaces.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, partners agreed on the course content, its structure and its length (around 14 hours). Although Italian employers and volunteers in this field would have preferred the course to last longer, it was decided that more hours could be added separately by each participating organization and that 14 hours would suit the needs of many employed learners and be enough for a first introduction to this field.<\/p>\n

As a follow-up to the meeting, partners will work on the adaptation of the course outline and content and then proceed with its translation in all partner languages. The course will then be tested (piloted) in all participating countries starting from December this year. Moreover, CESIE plans to hold an \u201cAdvisory Group meeting\u201d in June, inviting local actors in a round table to further discuss this.<\/p>\n
