Enhancing Albanian System of Quality Assurance in Higher Education:<\/em>
Application of the Process and Outcome-based Methodology<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project is designed as an answer to needs and strategies of Albania regarding its position in the Bologna Process in the EHEA and European integration. The Albanian higher education system faces a strong pressure for reforms. After joining the Bologna Process in 2003 the government and the higher education institutions (HEIs) have been striving to establish a national quality assurance (QA) system that is comparable in the EHEA. External and internal quality assurance (EQA, IQA) systems have become mandatory for the country and found legitimization in the Law on Higher Education (2007) making accreditation mandatory for HEIs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The uniqueness of this project is that Albanian and EU partners will jointly develop the QA approach for Albania trying to avoid the repetition of weaknesses experienced in their EU home systems and facing the specific Albanian challenges of isolation, impartiality of decisions, lack of comparability, of knowledge and of practical experience of the actors involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project involves a representative number of relevant stakeholders in the Partner Country such as HEIs, MoES, PAAHE, as well as student organizations and social partners as interlocutors throughout different project activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first meeting coordination was held in Koblenz, Germany \u2013 from the 17th<\/sup> till the 19th<\/sup> of December 2013.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
