Twenty years later the adoption, on 25th<\/sup> June of 1993,  of the Vienna Declaration by UN\u2019s General Assembly, this year, on the 10th<\/sup> of December 2013, we celebrate the International Human Rights Day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indeed, twenty years ago the Vienna Declaration was adopted to crystallize  the universality of the Human Rights contained into the Universal Declaration of 1948, since it was adopted without having binding power for all of the High Contracting Parties. The Declaration was just an International Declaration, which, in any case, has been considered as universal, given the high content of human rights as those universal values which were recognized, five years later the second world war, by the West.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whereas the International Law had not yet further powers to fight against the violations of Human Rights, in addition to this, the Vienna Declaration has establishedthe Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, to further implement the UN\u2019s action in the protection of Human Rights at the international level and among the States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay stated today, \u201cthe key now is to implement those laws and standards to make enjoyment of Human Rights a reality on the ground [\u2026] and to transform Human Rights from abstract promises to genuine improvement in the daily lives of all people\u201d. As well as the Ban Ki-moon said today too: all of the documents United Nations signed are aimed to fight to make rights a reality for all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following this particular point of view and on the occasion of this anniversary, CESIE takes into account this problem, tackling it through different projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The list of current projects promoting the respect of Human Rights are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

REPLACE 2<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 it\u2019s engaged to fight against the practice of Female Genital Mutilation in Europe, which is considered a serious violation of Human Rights of girls and women<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s bridge the gap!<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 Training course for youth workers with the aim to promote respect for gender equality and non-discrimination for sexual orientation<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Able like you<\/a>\u00a0\u2013an European voluntary project that promotes intercultural dialogue and the fight against stereotypes by working with people living with disabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Given this kind of social action,  the CESIE\u2019s will is to stand up for Human Rights, because the struggle is not never enough to build, as Ban Ki-moon stated today, \u201ca world of all human rights for all\u201d!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
