{"id":51356,"date":"2013-08-06T12:57:12","date_gmt":"2013-08-06T10:57:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cesie.org\/justice\/stir-a-research-project-about-the-protection-of-young-peoples-intimate-relationships\/"},"modified":"2025-06-26T09:26:43","modified_gmt":"2025-06-26T07:26:43","slug":"stir-a-research-project-about-the-protection-of-young-peoples-intimate-relationships","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/justice\/stir-a-research-project-about-the-protection-of-young-peoples-intimate-relationships\/","title":{"rendered":"STIR- A research project about the protection of young people\u2019s intimate relationships"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">New technologies, in particular social networks, play a very important role in the life of young people, unfortunately also to the point of instigating violence among them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since the beginning of 2013, CESIE has been working on a new project about the abovementioned topic.&nbsp;<strong>STIR (Safeguarding Teenage Intimate Relationships)<\/strong>&nbsp;is a project funded by the Daphne III Programme of the European Commission (DG Justice) and it aims at understanding the existing connection between new technologies and phenomena such as violence, bullying and abuse among young people in Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">STIR is realised by a consortium made up of 6 partners, including organisations and universities in 5 European Countries: University of Bristol (United Kingdom); University of Central Lancashire \u2013 UCLAN (United Kingdom); Norwegian Centre of Violence and Traumatic Stress (Norway); European Centre of Studies and Initiatives \u2013 CESIE (Italy); Applied Research and Communication Fund (Bulgaria); Mediterranean Institute of Gender Studies (Cyprus).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the years 2013-2015, the partner organisations will analyse abuse and violence among teenagers in intimate relationships, perpetuated both in the real and the virtual world.
