{"id":50940,"date":"2012-12-18T12:03:23","date_gmt":"2012-12-18T11:03:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cesie.org\/youth\/ewac-tc-report\/"},"modified":"2012-12-18T12:03:23","modified_gmt":"2012-12-18T11:03:23","slug":"ewac-tc-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/youth\/ewac-tc-report\/","title":{"rendered":"EWAC &#8211; TC report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><\/strong><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" title=\"TC_ewac_thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/media\/TC_ewac_thumbnail.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"190\" height=\"130\" \/><\/strong>Euromed at work for active citizenship &#8211; EWAC, a Training Course under Action 3.1 of the Youth in Action Programme, was held in Palermo (Italy) from 3<sup>rd<\/sup> till 11<sup>th<\/sup> November. <strong>Participants<\/strong><strong>, <\/strong><strong>youth trainers\/workers, peer educators, volunteers, youth with fewer opportunities<\/strong>, from: <strong>Italy, Bulgaria, Czech Republic,\u00a0 Greece, Lithuania, Norway, Estonia, Slovenia, Malta,\u00a0 Turkey, Tunisia, Egypt, Palestine, Israel and Morocco <\/strong>shared their experiences and knowledge considering <strong>active citizenship<\/strong> in their local communities and examples of <strong>youth unemployment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The TC was an open space for exchange of ideas, acquisition of new working methods to apply in different contexts to work with young people. It has stimulated active participation in youth and it generated many new project ideas to be developed at Euro-Med level.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Through the\u00a0 use of\u00a0 non formal education methodologies (team building, group discussions, art methods, etc.) \u00a0and new technological tools the true meaning of active citizenship was conveyed\u00a0 raising awareness of the possible benefits of promoting it to local communities and society in general.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">After the theoretical part of the TC, the participants worked in four groups:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li><strong>movement<\/strong>,<\/li>\n<li><strong>painting &amp; collage,<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>forum theater<\/strong>,<\/li>\n<li><strong>video making &amp; social media<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">They \u00a0took active role in all activities and were eager to share experiences and good practices\u00a0 as a means towards developing common strategies for civic participation.\u00a0 The training course was closed with a <strong>final <\/strong><strong>exhibition &amp; performance<\/strong> which demonstrated the link between active citizenship and youth unemployment perceived and revealed through the mastery of art and movement.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The exhibition was opened by the art group which conveyed their conception of active citizenship through panting and collage. The second \u00a0group presented active citizenship through the prism of movement with artistic choreography. \u00a0Another \u00a0group was dedicated on the use of video and social media as a means towards expressing their message and presenting active citizenship through the camera lens and web 2.0.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The forum theater group closed the exhibition with a magnificent story which was a true example of today\u2019s reality and the scourges of our society- violence, power, authority, and the need of active citizenship for social change.
