Sendasur<\/p><\/div>\n

Outside the mainstream tourism, far away from the luxury resorts, in the traditional core of Mexico in Chiapas, the southest region near the border with Guatemala. There Sendasur is calling for a EVS volunteer.<\/p>\n

Sendasur is an eco-touristic center located in Chiapas (by the border of Guatemala). It was created in 2006 and now has three tour operators and sixteen eco-touristic community centers around the region. One information and booking center is open in San Cristobal de las Casas.<\/p>\n

The originality of this network is that its members come from different cultural backgrounds (Tzeltals, Lacandons, Zoques etc\u2026).<\/p>\n

In harmony with the traditions that link tightly the communities to the mother heart, Sendasur promotes concepts of sustainable development and green tourism.<\/p>\n

The main aims of the volunteers work in the eco-touristic centre are to help them to learn about the eco-label in Mexico, about community based tourism, the touristic reality in Chiapas, discover Chiapas diversity and minorities, update Sendasur\u2019s website and manage direct-marketing tools, be in charge of reservations, accountancy and marketing according<\/p>\n

to his\/her skills, and develop a personal project. The missions are to develop the pedagogical gardens for the tourists, exchange new recipes for the restaurants, implement new activities on discovering fauna & flora etc, develop communication and promotion tools (videos, photos,blog, etc.) and sensitise travelers on sustainable development.<\/p>\n

Volunteers accommodation is set insane Cristobal, in a shared flat. They will receive monthly budget for food, the working hours are 35 for weeks.<\/p>\n

There is 1 volunteer place available from September 2011 for 6 months.<\/p>\n
