How can artificial intelligence help prevent gender-based violence? What risks and opportunities does its use present? SHIELD is gathering opinions and perspectives to develop safer, more accessible and more ethical digital tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When violence goes digital<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Stalking, sexual harassment, relationship violence and online grooming are some of the forms of gender-based violence that can affect young people in digital spaces too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Artificial intelligence can help prevent and detect risk situations early, but using it in such sensitive contexts requires careful attention to ethical and safety issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is why SHIELD is carrying out research<\/a> on the ethical application of AI in preventing gender-based violence, with the aim of developing solutions that respond to young people's needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among these, the project will develop and test an AI-based chatbot designed to help identify risk factors linked to gender-based violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The chatbot will be part of a broader set of digital tools dedicated to prevention, awareness-raising and support for young people and those who work with them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To design a truly useful tool, it is essential to understand people's expectations, needs and perceptions regarding the use of artificial intelligence in this field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The SHIELD survey<\/a> collects views on the use of artificial intelligence in preventing and combating gender-based violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The responses will feed into the study underpinning the chatbot's design, helping us take into account different perspectives as well as issues of effectiveness, safety and ethics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Taking part means contributing to a concrete phase of research and design of new digital tools for preventing gender-based violence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
