The right to say yes or no. The right to ask for help without fear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For many young women with intellectual and\/or developmental disabilities, exercising these rights is still difficult. They often cannot find the information they need, and do not know who to turn to when something goes wrong. <a href=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/project\/break\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><strong>BREAK<\/strong><\/a> is working to change this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">BREAK helps young women with disabilities know their rights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>BREAK works on consent education and protects young women with intellectual and\/or developmental disabilities across Europe.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project works with three groups of people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>With <strong>young women with disabilities<\/strong>, to help them understand what consent means, recognise harmful behaviours, and know their rights.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>With <strong>professionals<\/strong> \u2014 educators, support workers, therapists, and carers \u2014 to work on relationships and sexuality education in an inclusive and accessible way.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>With <strong>young men with disabilities<\/strong>, to promote respect, empathy, and non-violent relationships.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">BREAKpoint: a digital tool to stay safe<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An important part of BREAK is <strong>BREAKpoint<\/strong>, a website with practical tools. It helps people communicate, tell their story, understand how to stay safe, and <strong>report abuse with a step-by-step guide<\/strong>. BREAKpoint was designed and built together with the people who will use it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:30px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Changing the rules to protect people with disabilities<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">BREAK also wants to change the rules and services that exist today. <strong>Protecting one person at a time is not enough.<\/strong> Schools, social services, and those in charge need to learn how to prevent violence, including people with disabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Do you have questions about BREAK?
