In Europe, around 80% of natural habitats are in a critical condition, highlighting the <strong>urgent need for concrete action<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Restoring biodiversity<\/strong> is not merely about protecting nature; it is closely linked to <strong>human well-being and quality of life. <\/strong>In this context, restoring ecosystems and promoting practices that respect both the climate and biodiversity require a <strong>concrete commitment from society<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In response to these challenges, <a href=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/project\/co-bio\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">Co-Bio<\/a> promotes solutions based on biodiversity and sustainable practices, focusing on<strong> co-creation as active collaboration<\/strong>, to develop shared responses tailored to local contexts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The activities are carried out by engaging local communities through workshops, pilot projects and case studies. A key element is the development of<strong> tools and methodologies designed to strengthen skills and capacity for action<\/strong>, thereby facilitating the design and implementation of solutions for urban biodiversity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this context, we at CESIE ETS have contributed to the development of the <strong>Biodiversity Garden <\/strong>at the <a href=\"https:\/\/euromadonie.it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener external noreferrer\" title=\"\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">Euromadonie<\/a> site in Roccella (Palermo), a space that combines <strong>environmental sustainability, education and participation.<\/strong> The Biodiversity Garden is designed as a living laboratory dedicated to the enhancement of <strong>native flora<\/strong>, the promotion of <strong>ecological awareness <\/strong>and the strengthening of the bond between people and the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The local community has been actively involved through<strong> planting days, workshops and storytelling sessions<\/strong>, contributing to the care and development of the local area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the initiatives undertaken:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>the protection and promotion of endemic and rare plant species native to Sicily;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the integration of biodiversity into the daily life of the local community through interactive learning experiences;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>the promotion of a multifunctional space dedicated to education, research and recreational activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Co-Bio thus stands as a collective initiative that demonstrates how urban
