How can an education system be prepared for the environmental and technological challenges of tomorrow?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mongolia has long been on an ambitious path towards sustainable development, focusing on environmental literacy and digital innovation for the younger generation.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

RETEACH<\/a> is an international initiative dedicated to reforming the teacher training system in Mongolia, <\/strong>aimed at promoting atransition towards digital and sustainable educational models.<\/strong> The project supports teachers and institutions in developing innovative curricula, bridging the gap between national policies and the actual educational provision of higher education institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To translate these strategies into practical skills, in February we organised the second RETEACH training session in Palermo, aimed at Mongolian higher education institutions and ministry representatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hosted by the University of Palermo, the event provided an opportunity for discussion and collaborative learning, fostering dialogue between educational systems and the sharing of best practices<\/strong> to support the modernisation of teacher training in Mongolia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the key elements of the programme is the RETEACH Training Kit<\/em><\/strong>, a resource that brings together methodologies, tools and useful knowledge, based on green and digital teaching practices used across Europe. The kit provided concrete support to the Mongolian delegation in developing the national teacher training reform plan, the Teacher Education Concept 2027\u20132032 (TEC)<\/em><\/strong>, and in facilitating the transition from a traditional approach to a more innovative one, focused on the environment and new technologies. Over three days of workshops and shared reflection, we explored both centralised and participatory decision-making models<\/strong>, analysing how institutional guidelines can be integrated with the needs and initiatives arising from teachers and universities<\/strong>. We also addressed key issues such as gender inclusivity and the use of free European training tools, recognising their fundamental role and the need to incorporate them into curricula.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dialogue will continue in June with meetings and exchanges in Ulaanbaatar dedicated to observing and monitoring the implementation of teacher training reform in Mongolia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
