In today's digital era, information flows fast and incessantly<\/strong>, often conveyed through the endless connections of social media. These media platforms - born as tools to connect and share - undoubtedly represent valuable sources of news, updates and learning opportunities. However, the very open and viral nature of social media makes them a fertile ground for the spread of an insidious and devious enemy: disinformation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fake or skewed news<\/strong>, unsubstantiated conspiracy theories and manipulated content propagate with astonishing speed, reaching a huge audience in a very short time. The impact of this phenomenon on society is profound and worrying. Disinformation undermines trust in institutions, polarises public opinion, influences democratic processes<\/strong> and, in extreme cases, can even endanger people's health and safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even the education community is not immune to this challenge.<\/strong> Student communities, digital natives often immersed in this constant flow of online information, may find themselves overwhelmed by the difficulty of distinguishing truth from lies.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Indeed, misinformation can affect their learning, their beliefs and their ability to develop critical thinking<\/strong> that is fundamental to their future as informed citizens.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this complex scenario, the role of the educators becomes crucial:<\/strong> they are called upon to provide the necessary tools to surf the web safely and with awareness and to actively counter the spread of disinformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was on this topic that QYOURSELF<\/a> held the online courseCombating disinformation: Social media tools for digital media literacy<\/em><\/strong> \u2013 for teachers and trainers\u025c \u2013 dedicated to the conscious use of social media as an educational tool against disinformation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two-day online training \u2013 2 and 3 April 2025 \u2013 to develop key digital skills. <\/strong>Six hours of training for teachers and educators\u025c with the aim of integrating educational strategies that counter misinformation into the curriculum.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The course offered practical tools to analyse content, verify sources, create information materials and design digital literacy modules. Through interactive workshops, case studies and group activities, each participant acquired the essential skills to turn social media into training allies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
