Between September 2023 and January 2024, in Italy, Slovenia, Iceland, Greece and Cyprus, thanks to Green League<\/a><\/strong>, a large number of young people had the opportunity to try out different types of sports, immersing themselves in nature and increasing their knowledge and skills on the preservation of our planet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Slackline, climbing, archery, dragon boat, football, beach volleyball, frisbee golf, trekking, canoeing, orienteering, yoga, are just some of the sports organized directly in nature and with environmental reflection related to the 4 natural elements - air, water, earth, fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

40 sports events, related to the 4 natural elements, organised in 5 countries and involving more than 600 young people!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A huge success, which has helped to spread knowledge, messages and values to protect the environment, creating a bridge between sport and the environment and helping to make sport less impactful on the environment and at the same time a means of increasing environmental awareness among young people \u2013 athletes and not - sports and youth organisations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The events were organised thanks to the guidelines developed within the project - the Nature\u2019s Four Elements Sports Events \u2013 Outlines<\/a> and the Green League Model<\/a> - and will help other sports and youth organisations and educators, trainers and coaches to replicate this format linking sport and nature, sporting activity and environmental reflection. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Green League \u2013 Sport alliance for the environment<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>is a project financed by the European Union with the Erasmus+ cooperation partnership \u2013 sport program which aims to improve the link between sport and the environment through experiential learning, promoting outdoor physical activity as a tool for environmental awareness and encouraging sustainable practices in sport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
