{"id":128819,"date":"2023-12-22T10:39:00","date_gmt":"2023-12-22T09:39:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cesie.org\/?p=128819"},"modified":"2024-01-29T13:30:30","modified_gmt":"2024-01-29T12:30:30","slug":"wings-social-hut-festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/news\/wings-social-hut-festival\/","title":{"rendered":"Social Hut Festival: empowerment process for potential women victim or survival of trafficking"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Women<\/strong> with <strong>migration backgrounds<\/strong> and those who are <strong>survivors of trafficking<\/strong> often find it <strong>difficult to integrate from a socio-economic point of view.<\/strong> To make their inclusion easier, <strong><\/strong><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/project\/wings\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">WINGS<\/a><\/strong> supports them through <strong>language training, ethnopsychiatric accompaniment and employment counseling.<\/strong> During the project's period of action, the support model tested in Belgium, Greece, Italy and Spain provided advanced language training, psychological support and <strong>increased employment opportunities to nearly 60 women.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To catalyze its important growth path, WINGS on December 6 and 7, 2023, organized the <strong>Social Hut Festival<\/strong> in Brussels. The festival was attended by employers, anti-trafficking experts, representatives of civil society organizations, and policy makers. It was an <strong>opportunity to exchange best practices and network<\/strong> among those working in the field of immigrant women's inclusion, and to advocate the importance of creating inclusive workplaces to improve employability and social inclusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the first day of the festival, in a workshop organised in round tables, it has been discussed how <strong>companies can adopt an intercultural and intersectional approach to make their workplaces more inclusive<\/strong> and how support third-country national women for their inclusion in the local labour market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1536\" height=\"2048\" src=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/media\/workshop1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-128814\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/media\/workshop1.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/cesie.org\/media\/workshop1-1280x1707.jpg 1280w, https:\/\/cesie.org\/media\/workshop1-980x1307.jpg 980w, https:\/\/cesie.org\/media\/workshop1-480x640.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) and (max-width: 1280px) 1280px, (min-width: 1281px) 1536px, 100vw\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The second day of <strong>Social Hut Festival<\/strong> was organized as part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chance.international\/eu-youth-in-action\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer\">Youth in Action<\/a> project, promoted by the CHANCE network, aimed at discussing <strong>innovative strategies to build an equitable society<\/strong> based on inclusion and redistribution of wealth to ensure decent living conditions for all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">WINGS partners presented the program, specifically:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Experiences and best practices<\/strong> based on the <a href=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/resources\/wings-social-labour-inclusion-programme\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">WINGS Social and Labour inclusion programme<\/a> which comprises session plans for the delivery of trauma-sensitive foreign language teaching, individual employment counselling and recommendations for internship\/job placement in local companies;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Challenges and best practices<\/strong> in the socio-labor integration of trafficking survivors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1080\" height=\"810\" src=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/media\/foto-1-1080x810.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-128816\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/media\/foto-1-980x735.jpg 980w, https:\/\/cesie.org\/media\/foto-1-480x360.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) 1080px, 100vw\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tips for a meaningful empowerment process for immigrant women or survivors of trafficking were also shared during the conference.
