As the pace of <strong>technological and social change <\/strong>is accelerating, current and future generations need to be prepared to succeed in a world that is constantly evolving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But how can the <strong>education system and teaching profession<\/strong> be innovative to be able to prepare their students for the future?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is difficult for the European school systems as well as for teachers to follow up on the rapid shift in society and the demands of the needed competences, since it is rare <strong>that new subjects and new subject matter<\/strong> reflecting the evolution of technology and society are introduced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">With the project <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/project\/xxieuteach\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">XXI-EU-TEACH<\/a><\/strong>, 11 partners from Denmark, Finland, Italy, Romania and Spain address this gap by introducing four <strong>emerging subject matter areas<\/strong> in <strong>secondary school education<\/strong>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Technological empowerment<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sustainable learning<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Entrepreneurship<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Playful learning<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The four subject matter areas share underlying teaching approaches which are <strong>student-centred<\/strong>, <strong>project-based<\/strong> and aim to <strong>empower students as future citizens<\/strong> <strong>in democratic societies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Throughout the 21st Century European Teacher project, we will experiment with these underlying teaching approaches to develop recommendations for a pedagogy for new 21st Century European Teacher subject matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Moreover, the 21<sup>st<\/sup> Century European Teachers project will establish an <strong>international network<\/strong> as a <strong>driver for mobility<\/strong> during 5 study-visits and 5 co-organized teaching events across borders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As the final result, the partners will design, develop and try out <strong>21<sup>st<\/sup> Century joint learning modules <\/strong>for pre- and in-service teachers and a <strong>MOOC for teachers<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To learn more about the project contact Cecilie La Monica Grus: <a href=\"mailto:cecilie.lamonica@cesie.org\">cecilie.lamonica@cesie.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-about-the-project\">About the project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/project\/xxieuteach\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">XXI-EU-TEACH \u2013 21st Century European Teachers<\/a> is a three-years-long project co-financed by EACEA under Erasmus+ Teacher Academies Partnership for Excellence.
