November 18 marks the European Day for the Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation and Abuse<\/strong>, giving us an opportunity to reflect on this controversial and often invisible issue. The European Day aims to raise awareness about child sexual exploitation and abuse<\/strong>, promote debate<\/strong> on the protection of children, and help eliminate the stigmatization of victims<\/strong>. It also aims to promote the implementation of the Lanzarote Convention<\/strong>, a legally binding treaty that requires Council of Europe member states to criminalize all types of sexual abuse of children<\/strong> and provides guidelines for combating it. Indeed, it is a complex phenomenon that requires a unified approach and a multidirectional intervention network to work together to create awareness for parents, educators, NGOs and policymakers to effectively counter the phenomenon. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

CESIE, together with the partners of STOP<\/a><\/strong> and the partners of JERICHO<\/a><\/strong>, is actively working to raise awareness among families, professionals in the field and young people about the reality of this phenomenon and the various declinations it takes nowadays in the digital age.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is why the thematic hub CHILDRENSAFE<\/strong> has been created, a site that will serve as a catalyst for all the concrete actions that CESIE will promote in terms of awareness on the ground, training opportunities, and awareness campaigns on the issues of child rights and protection.<\/strong> Our commitment, in collaboration with professionals in the field, marks the beginning of a change in which we actively engage with our work every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

About the project<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

STOP \u2013 Sensitize and Train Organizations to fight against the Prostitution of minors<\/a> is a project funded by Erasmus+: Key Action 2, KA220-VET \u2013 Cooperation partnerships in vocational education and training. It aims to train and raise awareness of professionals and social educators to combat and protect minors from the exploitation of child prostitution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

JERICHO \u2013 Speak out to break down the wall that makes underage prostitution invisible <\/a>is a project funded by the European Commission, CERV-2022-DAPHNE. It aims to raise awareness of child sexual exploitation for prostitution through social media campaigns to prevent abuse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
