How to improve the link between the environment and sports?<\/strong> How to promote outdoor physical activity while raising awareness of the importance of ecosystem protection?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To answer these questions, the Green League<\/a><\/strong> consortium has created a number of training and support materials<\/strong>, starting with the workshop held in Slovenia in January. Thanks to the professional input of the athletes who participated in the workshop, the Green League Training Package is now online and available at https:\/\/green-league.eu\/<\/a><\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It contains theoretical insights, exercises and additional materials on key issues related to the link between sports and the environment.<\/strong> Specifically: ecosystems<\/strong>, their characteristics and the sports that can threaten them; European-level legislation<\/strong> and directives on sport and the environment; ways in which sport can have an impact<\/strong> \u2013 both positive and negative \u2013 on the environment; how to plan and organize<\/strong> sports<\/strong> activities<\/strong> and events in harmony with the environment; and how sport can be used to increase and generate awareness<\/strong> about the importance of sustainable \u2013 green \u2013 sports practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This material aims to strengthen the capacity of sports professionals by promoting outdoor physical activity as a means of educating people about environmental issues.<\/strong> The package contributes to the understanding of the effect that sports have on the environment and the planning of sports in harmony with nature and environmental protection and conservation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Green League \u2013 Sport alliance for the environment<\/a> is a project funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ programme \u2013 cooperation partnership \u2013 sport \u2013 that aims to improve the link between sport and the environment through experiential learning, promoting outdoor physical activity as a tool for environmental awareness and encouraging sustainable practices in sport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
