The acquisition of scientific skills is a fundamental element of any school curriculum. It equips students with essential resources to become active and responsible citizens, while also creating potential opportunities for their future careers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Therefore, it is important to have appropriate resources to enhance student engagement in STEM, including integrating technology in the classroom and implementing strategies such as collaborative learning and problem-solving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Providing teachers and educators with practical tools and lesson plans is a key aim of the STEM by STEM<\/strong> project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To achieve this, an international training <\/strong>was held in Sofia, Bulgaria, from September 18 to 22, 2023, with the aim to strengthen the skills of teachers in programming, 3D printing, electronics, and robotics, and to co-design lesson plans related to STEMs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The training was held by the ABV Academy<\/a> trainers, a group of experts in the information technology field who founded an association to promote technology and science education among children, in collaboration with Know and Can<\/em> (the Bulgarian partner).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teachers and educators from Bulgaria, Italy, Spain, and Romania got involved through technological experiments and challenges (in the pictures below some testimonies of the activities including a \"sumo robot competition\").<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Teachers and educators will share with their colleagues the knowledge acquired within the international training, during a national event - to be organized in the coming months in the schools of the partnership\u2019s countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The training provided a chance to test the Toolkit with guidelines for developing STEM lessons<\/strong>, which includes guidelines for designing STEM lessons focused on programming, 3D printing, electronics, and robotics. The Toolkit also provides examples of experiments to implement in classrooms, aligning with teaching needs: it will be published soon in five languages (English, Italian, Bulgarian, Spanish and Romanian) to be used by teachers to boost their educational approaches towards STEMs with their pupils.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Together with the Toolkit, all the co-designed lesson plans developed during the international and national trainings will be included in a multilingual online Wiki<\/strong> consisting of additional STEM teaching resources and tools freely accessible to anyone who wishes to experiment with the proposed activities in school.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

STEM by STEM<\/a> is funded by the Erasmus+ KA220-SCH \u2013 Cooperation partnerships in school education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
