{"id":115063,"date":"2022-04-07T11:43:00","date_gmt":"2022-04-07T09:43:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cesie.org\/?p=115063"},"modified":"2025-06-04T10:43:56","modified_gmt":"2025-06-04T08:43:56","slug":"pitch-double-discrimination-migrant-women","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/migration\/pitch-double-discrimination-migrant-women\/","title":{"rendered":"PITCH: new strategies to fight double discrimination against migrant women"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Women<\/strong> <strong>represent<\/strong> <strong>51,4% of the migrant population <\/strong>in Europe in 2019 (UNDESA 2019). They continue to face <strong>double discrimination<\/strong>, one first consequent to <strong>origin<\/strong>, the other with respect to <strong>gender<\/strong>. This leads to greater obstacles than their male counterparts, in accessing the labor market and integration programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The official launch of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cesie.org\/en\/project\/pitch\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">PITCH <\/a><\/strong>project took place on <strong>March 28-29, 2022<\/strong>, in <strong>Palermo, Italy<\/strong>. There we had the opportunity to meet our partners from all over Europe: <strong>Spain, Greece, Italy, Cyprus, Sweden, Slovenia, Lithuania and Poland<\/strong>. We will work together for the next three years with the goal of developing an effective model that facilitates the integration and inclusion of migrant women in Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure <strong>establishing a European common ground<\/strong> to support the design and implementation of local integration strategies targeting migrant women, based on a <strong>personalized, participatory and multi-stakeholder<\/strong> approach resulting from an EU-wide exchange of successful practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>expected impact<\/strong> of the project is to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Engage <strong>210 migrant women.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Improve institutional dialogue<\/strong> on integration strategies at the European level.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Increase migrant women's sense of belonging<\/strong> to European societies by strengthening their skills and making them more aware of their rights, duties and opportunities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Crate a new channel <\/strong>for multi-stakeholder cooperation at the transnational and local level.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p
