data-wpel-link=\"internal\"><strong>3STEPs<\/strong> <\/a>towards <strong>more inclusive societies<\/strong> where young migrants and refugees are welcomed, supported and involved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the 23 November 2022 final conference <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/3steps.eu\/it\/conference-strasbourg-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener external\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">\u201cSocial inclusion of (low-skilled) migrants and refugees in education: join 3STEPS network\u201d<\/a><\/strong> was held in Strasbourg, where we talked about strategies and methodologies to foster <strong>Education &amp; Inclusion<\/strong> of disadvantages refugee and migrant learners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-3steps-approach-as-the-name-says-is-based-on-3-steps\">3STEPs approach, as the name says, is based on 3 STEPs:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>1) BASIC EDUCATION TRAINING: <\/strong>to improve skills on literacy, numeracy and digital skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It\u2019s a best practice certified by the Austrian ministry, originally developed for low skilled people, then also implemented with migrant population to foster their integration into the national education system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Basic Education Principles are the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Places the focus on the learner and its learning needs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is oriented towards existing competences and competences to be developed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is dialogical and reciprocal.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Interweaves action and reflection, and thus enables guidance and transparency in the teaching-learning process.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is critical of the knowledge acquired.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is oriented towards content and topics relevant to the learner.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>2) VOCATIONAL ORIENTATION AND BLENDED LEARNING <\/strong>by role models mentors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It offers youngsters mentors to support migrant people from their own ethnic communities in order to inspire them as role models in future-oriented fields and think on alternatives to traditional trainings and jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>3) SOCIAL INCLUSION AND<\/strong> <strong>MUTUAL LEARNING ACTIVITIES<\/strong> for young migrants and refugees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Directed to strengthen basic skills and social inclusion of young migrants and refugees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>3STEPs developed <a href=\"https:\/\/3steps.eu\/it\/resources\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener external\" data-wpel-link=\"external\">different resources:<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Handbook for Trainers and Mentors: <\/strong>including recommendations on how to address migrants and refugees in an educational context, providing creative and innovative ideas for teaching.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Youth training curriculum: <\/strong>providing guidelines on how to implement a hybrid teaching model for migrant and refugees\u2019 youth by mentors of the same cultural background.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/3steps.eu\/network\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener external\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><strong>3STEPs European Network<\/strong><\/a><strong>: <\/strong>for social inclusion of low-skilled migrants and refugees in terms of education and vocational training.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Policy brief (available in January 2023)<\/strong> including considerations for social inclusion and recommendations on 3STEPs methodology to encourage other teaching and training institutions to adapt and develop them within their countries and contexts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project has come to an end, but our effort to support young migrants and refugees will continue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
