The Cultural and Creative Sector<\/strong> (CCS) plays a key role in European economies, in terms of employment, innovation, and positive social impact on the whole society. Nevertheless, policies enforced during the COVID-19 pandemic to support the severely-hit CCS<\/strong> proved to be short-sighted and unable to promote the adoption of modern and digital-oriented business models in the sector (OECD, Culture shock: COVID-19 and the CCS). The pandemic has accelerated the process of digital transformation<\/strong>, but a wide skills gap still exists in the EU: in 2019, 90% of jobs required digital skills but 43% of Europeans lacked basic competences (EC, 2019). For CCS actors lacking the skills to shift to digital mode, the restrictions meant unstable income and uncertain future prospects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In line with the European Skills Agenda\u2019s priorities, the new Erasmus+ project, <\/strong>RestART<\/a><\/strong>, will enhance CCS actors\u2019 digital preparedness, resilience and adaptability to changes. Yet, the efficient upskilling of CCS actors depends on VET providers\u2019 capacity to provide effective response strategies<\/strong>. The pandemic hindered the delivery of VET programmes, revealing scarce ability to use digital tools, motivate learners, ensure the continuity of learning and equal opportunities for all, which increased the risk of drop-out (ILO, 2020).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conforming the Digital Education Action Plan\u2019s calls for improved digital capacity in education to allow all learners to thrive in a changing society, the RestART project will improve VET providers\u2019 digital skills for effective training design and delivery, competence assessment and validation, by creating comprehensive training materials and guidance on how to increase the digital expertise of CCS learners. The project will support the digital transition <\/strong>and resilience of CCS <\/strong>actors by enhancing the ability of VET providers <\/strong>in creative disciplines to adapt their training offer to current and future needs of labour market, economy and society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Six partners from Italy (CESIE), Finland (HBC), Portugal (COFAC), Greece (EUROTraining), Austria (die Berater) and Spain (INCOMA), who have already met online at the projec\u2019t\u2019s Kick-Off Meeting on 12th<\/sup> April 2022, will collaborate together over the next 2 years to achieve the following RestART objectives:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
