CAPPERI continues with its educational and informative activities addressed to schools and citizenship and dedicated to the Common Agricultural Policy<\/a>. On March 3 and 4, the project partners shared the progress of the activities in Mesagne, Puglia, hosted by the Istituto Scientifico Biomedico Mediterraneo<\/a>. The project brought the CAP to schools and created opportunities to introduce students to local agricultural realities based on social and environmental sustainability and sharing. The high schools involved are now about to complete the social research phase, used to investigate through interviews the relationship that citizens and peers have with agriculture, emphasizing the direct involvement that each of us has with this policy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The schools are now in a moment of transition between social research and the creative reworking of the work done. The informative session aimed at citizens also continue, with various meetings and workshops to deepen the themes of sustainable nutrition, the short food supply chain, the seasonality of products and organic farming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also coming to the five cities involved in the educational activities are the Augmented Reality workshops that will be held in kindergartens. A presentation of the approach that uses technology to explore nature and plants was presented during the meeting in Mesagne by C&C Apple Premium Resellers.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Engineer Lucio Colizzi, President of Ortinsieme Association<\/a>, presented the experience of a social garden that proposes a model of sustainable development based on sharing and that puts into practice all the new paradigms of primary production based on small-scale production and high social participation. Carmelo Formica, Professor of Economic Geography at the University Federico II of Naples, presented in videoconference a contribution entitled \"Agriculture, Environment and Sustainable Development\" sharing with the participants his vision of the CAP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the meeting in Mesagne, the partners also met local agricultural realities that work in network to enhance the territory and its agri-food products representing examples of how the CAP contributes to the development of rural communities: among them the Frantoio De Gasperi<\/a>, Mesagne Rurale - Casa Simoni<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The next stage of the project will be Palermo, on the occasion of the final meeting in June will be organized a public event in which students and teachers of the five cities involved in the educational pathways will meet and share their experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
