As a young sixteen year old, I became aware of the Syrian refugee crisis. I was instantly struck by the magnitude and seriousness of the situation. My initial reaction was \u201chow can Ireland help?\u201d It was the first cause that I felt passionate for change and also truly \u2018European\u2019. I understood then, as I understand now, the need for solidarity and support for those at risk. The urge to work toward a better future with a community of like-minded people is what led me to CESIE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The organisation gives the opportunity to work on various European projects with transnational stakeholders. I am able to improve my soft skills as well as my Italian level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Upon finishing my Erasmus in Siena last year, I knew I had to come back to Italy and work in some capacity with an organisation involved with research and projects related to Asylum seekers and refugees. The opportunity with CESIE allows me to do both.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
After spending a year of learning online, I was eager to have a new experience, to be exposed to a new culture and environment. Since a young age I have a clear vision of wanting to work toward a more inclusive and integrated Europe. CESIE makes a complex aspiration easy to visualise. I am excited to see where my new adventure to Sicily takes me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
