The role of entrepreneurship in boosting economic growth after the pandemic crisis has been strongly emphasized by the European Commission. Promoting new forms of social and green entrepreneurship<\/strong> appears to be the key to creating employment while addressing community needs and environmental challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Youth in the EU show high levels of interest in entrepreneurship, but only 6.5% of working youth are self-employed (OECD, 2019). Compared to experienced older entrepreneurs, young people often face barriers that prevent them from engaging in self-entrepreneurial activities, such as the limited entrepreneurship educational offer and the lack of awareness of entrepreneurial opportunities.
In order to support young people who want to live and work in rural areas, it is necessary to offer them entrepreneurship training<\/strong>, financial incentives and microcredit to start a business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

YURI - Intercultural urban-rural youth dialogues for collective entrepreneurship<\/strong><\/a> aims to provide aspiring young entrepreneurs, particularly those with fewer opportunities, with skills and competences <\/strong>required for green and social entrepreneurship. The project will offer young people living both in urban and rural areas <\/strong>the space to debate and exchange ideas about ecology and social issues. The results of these sessions will then be incorporated in the Rural-urban youth handbook for collective and green entrepreneurship<\/em><\/strong>, which will inspire young people to actively engage in favour of ecologic and social initiatives and start up a business that embraces principles of sustainability.

The project will end with a final event in Bruxelles, to raise awareness at the European level about the opportunities offered by social and green entrepreneurship in the youth field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
