The partners of IN2STE(A)M have worked on the development of the Digital Teacher’s Toolkit, designed with the aim of providing both methodological foundations and practical instructions on how to integrate STE(A)M disciplines in primary schools. The aim will be to improve the learning outcomes of both, male and female students, with particular attention to providing equal opportunities in STE(A)Ms, fighting gender stereotypes and ensuring greater educational and motivational involvement of female students.
The Toolkit contains several teaching methodologies, previously tested by teachers in Italy, Portugal, Poland, Turkey, Cyprus, Greece as part of the “Training Curriculum in STE(A)M learning and gender sensitive practices”. To enrol for free: https://in2steam.eu/course/login/index.php.
Within the Toolkit, we strongly highlight the importance of artistic disciplines, considered as complementary to other disciplines (STE(A)M with the A of art). Arts can also foster the inclusion of students in the STE(A)M, in a simple and creative way, from a very young age. Furthermore, Arts allow students to increase creativity by facilitating, through artistic practice and creative expression, the processes of innovation and the generation of new ideas.
Through the Toolkit, teachers and educators will be able to deliver integrated and multidisciplinary lesson plans (including both STEM and artistic disciplines), in order to foster 21st century mindsets: creative and innovative, critical and communicative, in line with the development of the 21st century skills.

Consult the Toolkit at https://in2steam.eu/outputs/ available very soon also in Italian, Portuguese, Greek, Turkish and Polish versions – and integrated with the STE(A)M Activity Kit for students, containing 21 experiments and non-formal activities to be implemented at school as well as at home. In the upcoming weeks, we will start implementing 12 STEM Laboratories (in each project’s country), with the collaboration of 3 female STEM professionals and several primary school teachers. The main goal of the laboratories will be to put into practice the activities of the Activity kit for students, while engaging pupils in a funny, inclusive and interactive way!
About the project
IN2STEAM – Inspiring Next Generation of Girls through Inclusive STE(A)M Learning in Primary Education is co-financed by the Erasmus+ KA201 – Strategic Partnerships for school education. The project aims to enhance, encourage and foster + innovative educational approach that integrates STE(A)M learning (applying art + design principles to science education) in primary education through gender-inclusive methods and resources to promote a positive change of attitudes towards non–stereotyping choices in education + attract more girls into STEM fields.
