  • To strengthen and consolidate social cohesion, intercultural education and local language in a multilingual framework of newly arrived migrants at primary and secondary schools
  • To enhance the social inclusion in at least 90 primary and secondary schools in Spain, Greece, Italy, Cyprus, Bulgaria and Portugal
  • To increase the professional skills of school educators
  • To raise awareness on the problem of social inclusion of migrant children at schools in the EU Mediterranean country level


  • Implementing and validating the MEDIS Programme based on language education as the main integration tool but also with a focus on socio-cultural education to teach how to live in diverse society
  • Capacity building trainings on inclusive methodologies and innovative pedagogical approaches
  • Pilot action phases for validating the MEDIS programme at several primary and secondary schools at the Mediterranean region to assess its effectiveness in promoting cultural diversity and tolerance at school environments
  • Dissemination, upscaling and raising the awareness of the MEDIS programme among the public authorities and the society in order to guarantee its sustainability and future replicability


  • Study of school environments in relation to the social inclusion of migrants
  • Collection of good practices in the field of social inclusion
  • Handbook for the Mediterranean Inclusive School Programme including methodologies, tools, resources, teaching techniques through the collection of good practices in the field of social inclusion of newly arrived migrant children
  • Online training courses for teachers which want to improve their professionals skills
