“I’ve never been asked” is the reaction we often get from young people when we ask them about their requests, needs and wishes for their future as European citizens, both politically and socially, in the public and private sphere. Particularly for young people coming from particular social backgrounds, or with cultural backgrounds different from those of the society in which they live, the possibility to express themselves and thus make demands that can meet their needs as citizens is even more difficult.
In response to this situation, the My Creativity My Power project was born.
It is a project that aims to empower young people to voice their political demands as active European citizens through the use of creative and artistic means such as theatre, music, dance, and express those on EU level.
On 11th and 12th October the first partner meeting of the My Creativity My Power project took place in Austria, Vienna; during the meeting, the 6 partners coming from Austria, Italy, Poland and Slovenia met in order to kick start the works on the project and to begin to organize the amazing journey that 52 young people will undertake in 2022.
This journey will allow this young people to do artistic and creative workshop, to travel in 3 different European Countries, to build intercultural friendships and to increase their self-esteem, creative skills and to develop activist and advocacy competences.
