TANDEM NOW – Second meeting in Bilbao and next steps of the project! From October 20th to 30th 2013  the partners of the project TANDEM NOW, coming from Ireland, Spain, Italy, Turkey, Germany and Austria, met in Bilbao, Spain, for the second meeting of the project.

TANDEM NOW is a project funded by the European Union (LLP Leonardo da Vinci – Trasfer of innovation) concerning education and vocational training. The project aims at creating role models for young migrants or young people belonging to ethnic minorities (Mentees) during their professional career, developing a Mentoring methodology between Mentees and adults with a migration background (Mentors).

The added value of the project is to propose a “blended” Mentoring strategy combining face-to-face meetings and virtual meetings carried out thanks to the use of new technologies and social media.

After carrying out a need analysis on the current situation of the labour market and young migrants’ needs in their own countries, the partners delivered a comprehensive training package for Mentors which was discussed and defined in Bilbao.

In each project partner country, 10 Mentors will be chosen to try out the training package and the blended Mentoring methodology. Acting as a role model for Mentees, they will strengthen their personal pedagogical and technological skills.

Mentees taking part to the project will be supported in their vocational training path, highlighting career opportunities and identifying their strengths and their skills and competences. After the selection process, they will choose their Mentor from the profiles on the project web site (www.tandemnow.eu).

If you are interested in becoming a Mentor or a Mentee please read the brochure and/or contact Irene Pizzo, irene.pizzo@cesie.org, +39 091 616 4224.
