Feel-it_Evento-conclusivo_01The activities of the project Feel it! Feel the difference, co-funded by the European programme European Integration Fund, have almost come to an end.

Between November and December 2013, four high schools of the city – Liceo Classico Statale Vittorio Emanuele II, Istituto Magistrale Regina Margherita, Istituto Tecnico Trasporti e Logistica Gioeni Trabia and Liceo Scientifico Statale Benedetto Croce – took part in the project.

The closing event of the activities carried out at local level with students and teachers from the schools involved will take place on February 18th 2014, 10:30 a.m., at Galleria 149, via Cavour 149, Palermo.

The schools hosted the art installation “Path of Diversity”, produced by the students of the Accademia di Belle Arti, and they joined the activities of the “School Project Week” concerning the issues of migrations, integration and cultural diversity, including the production of four collective canvas, one for each school, on which students used painting to explain their vision of cultural diversity and the importance of migrant communities living in our city.

On February 18th, the collective canvas will be displayed, and it will be a useful opportunity for students from the four schools to compare their experience and learn something about the activities carried out in the other partner countries of the project (Innsbruck, Leicester, Madrid, Stuttgart and Vilnius).

During the event there will also be a presentation of the “Curriculum” draft, a manual collecting various intercultural activities for teaching, developed by partners following the suggestions received by the students and the teachers during the project activities.

Supporting unaccompanied foreign minors means standing alongside those who protect them

Supporting unaccompanied foreign minors means standing alongside those who protect them

Guaranteeing rights and protection to refugees means building effective, humane, and fair reception systems every day. However, for unaccompanied minors, the path is still long: they are often victims of trafficking, violence, and exploitation, and face enormous barriers to accessing education, healthcare, and emotional support. As of 31 December 2023, there were over 23,000 in Italy, with more than a quarter in Sicily.
