The COTW e-learning platform for migration professionals has been released!
It fosters skills of professionals working with the migrant population helping them to support their journey into autonomy through various interactive features. Those include the learning contents from the International Handbook, which focus on the theoretical background and practical activities for digital skill enhancement, labour market inclusion and entrepreneurship as well as language capacities and getting in touch with local communities with the overall aim of social inclusion. All three modules are enriched with tips and tricks as well as provide materials to be downloaded and used in the daily work of migration professionals.
A further integral part is the Numeracy and Literacy section, which aims to help professionals approach the skill development of illiterate and innumerate individuals. In addition, best practices from the three partner countries give insight in innovative ways of fostering skills of locals and foreigners through activities, such as cooking, theatre and photo/ video-making workshops or intergenerational activities.
The platform’s self-assessment tool provides guidance through the platform by allowing users to indicate their scope of work as well as learning interest thus proposing specific sections of the platform that could be of added value to their professional practice.
Finally, the community section allows for the asking of questions, expertise and knowledge among professionals from all three countries and beyond, hence creating new synergies and a constant exchange of best practices on a European scale through interactive features.
The platform is freely available in English, Czech, Swedish and Italian and the proposed materials can be used in group and single activities as well as for purposes of self-study. Hence, it is in line with the COTW project’s key objective of providing tailored educational materials for professionals working to support the life-long learning of migrants.
