Do you think cultural exchanges are only for youngsters? Do you think only youth can be in Action?
Not anymore! GIVE ( the EU program for senior volunteers) is a real opportunity to involve adult people in volunteering and in intercultural activities; it is the time for senior volunteers and sharing their experience with people from across Europe.
Volunteers expenses will be fully covered.
Porta Nuova is a project to send 6 senior volunteers in Cawsand, a lovely Cornish village for 3 weeks from Sunday 3th July to Sunday 24st July. The senior volunteers must be a fifty or over fifty years old Italian citizen.

On arrival volunteers will be introduced to local activities, they will receive informations how to reach the nearer places and facilities in the twin village. Senior volunteers will be supported by the tutors. Be involve in English lesson once a week. They are going to be integrated in the local life.
The work programme will focus on three main elements: childcare, young people, and migrants. The volunteers will work alongside paid staff and local volunteers to enrich the work, add an intercultultural
dimension, and learn about operations in the host centres. Their work will be between Milbrook and Cawsand.
The main activities are: childcare: to work on childcare with young children aged from 2 to 13 in our small, rural community. Most of the work is with children aged 2 to 8 and the volunteers will enjoy working and playing creatively with this age group.
General assistant: to support village organisations at Cawsand in helping with village lunches for older people, table tennis club, other help in local churches; helping at Point Europa Charity Shop.
Intercultural activities: to perform cooking, dancing, performing arts.
The partners organizers are: Point Europa in Cornwall, UK, and CESIE in Palermo, Italy. We are active in the creation and delivery of training and learning opportunities (local, regional and international) for a wide range of people, within the “Youth in action programm”.
Before the departure there will be training courses (also language courses) to support the volunteers in their experience.
Both partners have substantial experience with international youth volunteering, through the EU’s “Youth In Action” programme. This means that we have the skills and support framework needed to support older volunteers.
