After the initial enthusiasm of being selected for Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs programme, I immediately started to choose from the list of entrepreneurs on the EYE platform the host to whom I could bring an added value.
I have analysed professional and personal characteristics of the HEs through the active communication with them via Skype, mail, direct channels such as whatsapp and telegram. I wanted to find a place for the exchange that might be compatible with my objectives and allow the growth for both myself and the host company.
My choice fell on an Italian accountant who has become an entrepreneur. His company works as tax advisory, strategic business and financial consultancy, and is based in Eindhoven, in the Netherlands. The HE has allowed me to broaden my horizons and my expectations, as well as he provided me with incomparable tools for my growth both as a professional and as a person.
I did not have particular difficulties to settle in the Netherlands thanks to the continuous availability and support from Italian and Dutch IOs. Both organizations have always been ready to help me.
My impression of the EYE programme is extremely positive: I received an immediate approval from my HE, I had the opportunity to collaborate in a professional and equally valued way in the workplace where we shared ideas, projects and strategies.
During this period, I have improved my language and entrepreneurial skills, I have studied and get familiar with the world of cryptocurrencies and I have learned new professional approaches and methods that I want to continue to pursue in my life.
I discovered and appreciated the Netherlands, even if I knew very little about this country before the exchange. I appreciated both the human side and the economic side. I learned about the Dutch tax system and I have touched on the professional possibilities that the Dutch system gives to entrepreneurs.
During my journey I was lucky enough to meet and collaborate with wonderful people who accompanied me to the last day of this Dutch experience.
The added value I found in this project was to make the idea of European Union closer to me as a professional.
Living and working with ease in a country like the Netherlands, I had the opportunity to feel not like an expat migrating to work, but as European citizen living in a city surrounded by other European citizens.
Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs is a cross-border exchange programme which gives new or aspiring entrepreneurs the chance to learn from experienced entrepreneurs running small businesses in other Participating Countries.
