Online misinformation is a serious threat, from false cures for COVID-19 to false information about financial matters. Not being able to distinguish fake news from real news can have serious consequences for a person’s physical, emotional and financial well-being, especially if they are elderly.
If you are over sixty or if you work in contact with elderly people, join the free SAFE meeting about disinformation and fake news that will be held
on Wednesday June 12th at 2.30 pm
at Sala Consiliare – Municipio di Trappeto
Piazza del Municipio, 70, Trappeto, Pa
SAFE is specifically aimed both to educators who work with adults and to older people who – compared to younger ones – have different approaches to interacting with social media.
During the meeting you will discover the educational program designed to help older people develop critical thinking and recognize fake news, and the training program aimed to educators too.
Antonio Dolcemascolo, project manager CESIE ETS and Leandro Salvia, journalist and expert in fighting disinformation, will intervene and introduce SAFE.
This event is free and organized thanks to the help by the Libera Università popolare di Trappeto.
