Training for people with a migrant background

Having clear information about work, the law, documents and your rights can make the difference between a decent job and a situation of exploitation.

For this reason, a series of free sessions aimed at people with a migrant background is launching in Palermo, promoted by the European HOST project, CESIE ETS and ANCI Sicilia in collaboration with CGIL Palermo.

The sessions will take place at the CGIL Chamber of Labour in Palermo and will address practical issues closely linked to people’s daily needs, such as:

  • residence and work permits
  • rights even without documents
  • fair pay and working conditions
  • health and safety at work
  • recognising the signs of labour exploitation.

The aim is to provide a safe and accessible space where people can receive practical information, consult with experts and raise awareness of their rights.

Knowing one’s rights is, in fact, a fundamental tool for protection, autonomy and prevention, as a lack of information often exposes people to risks of abuse, precariousness and exploitation.

The initiative aims to make a tangible contribution to strengthening the local community by promoting greater awareness, social inclusion and access to rights for everyone.
