Within the Art and Act Exhibition: Re-imagining the Web of the World, hosted from May 13-30, 2023 at SPAZIOiF in Palermo and organized by CESIE, there will be an opportunity to reflect and imagine together new solutions for social change in the face of the current environmental and social crisis.
This is the main objective of the 15 works on display, which try to re-imagine the plots of the world with respect to the relationships we weave every day.
Thanks to the exhibition, we will be able to question what the role of art is today and what educational value teachers, artists and parents attribute to it; for the development of new teaching methodologies and the promotion of its inherent educational action, considering that we live in a society that is constantly and constantly evolving.
One of the goals of art can be to produce alternative social imaginaries where artists, teachers and parents play an active role in understanding identities and the world, educating the citizens of today and tomorrow.
During the last day of the exhibition, we decided to organize a final moment that can connect artists and teachers from these insights. Using the guides produced with the partners of the Erasmus + ArtED – Developing creative learning opportunities for young people across Europe project, we will try to ask who is the art educator, and how this professional figure is emerging. We will provide teachers and artists with new tools to formulate creative learning opportunities, with a view to disseminating these practices to all those who work with young people (teachers, leaders, teacher trainers, parents and caregivers), outside and inside school contexts.
We look forward to seeing you on Tuesday, May 30 from 5 to 7 p.m. at SPAZIOif – Via Principe di Granatelli 65 to indulge in a moment of discussion, reflection and creativity and to imagine together new spaces for dialogue between young people and adults, pupils and teachers, children and parents.
ArtEd – Developing creative learning opportunities for young people across Europe is a project co-funded by the Erasmus+ KA2 Strategic Partnership SCHOOL programme. It started in November 2020 and coordinated by Tom Dobson and Lisa Stephenson from the Carnegie Scho Itol of Education, Leeds Beckett University.
