During the last three years the ArtS project has taken advantage of the potential coming from the cultural and creative sectors in order to enhance the growth of jobs and strengthen the cultural economy at a regional and transnational level.

Focusing on three countries – Greece, Italy and Spain – we firstly investigated on the complex system of cultural and creative industries in VET, then defined the needs of job market in the cultural and creative sectors.

Later we started a common VET programme that helps low-qualified, unemployed, self-employed artists to update their professional skills, gaining new managerial, networking and business skills, and guides them in finding a job or an internship in a firm of their choice.

We implemented the training programme in accordance with ECVET standards (European credit system for vocational education and training).

The training programme is finalized and available on-line for all those who wish to improve their skills in the following sectors:

  1. Craft,
  2. Performing arts (music, dance, theatre),
  3. Cultural Heritage (archives, libraries, museums),
  4. Literary arts (book and press),
  5. Visual arts,
  6. Audiovisual and multimedia.

On 13th and 14th March the final meeting of the ArtS project took place in Rome. Here we all could confront on the project results and the objectives reached. The diversity of the partners represented a benefit for the project and its implementation, for the creation of the innovative and specific training programme and for its guarantee of impact, sustainability and dissemination of results.

Is it possible to transform an artistic path of personal education into wider social development processes?

This point and many others were questioned at the final conference of the ArtS project  – Creativity and New Entrepreneurial Scenarios – organized by Melting Pro in Fondazione Exclusiva on the afternoon of the 14th March.

The main aim of the conference was to reflect on the importance of the creative competences for the development of this sector firms, the competitiveness of territories, the relaunch of employability, youth empowerment and the creation of open and inclusive communities.
