From 6th to 9th February 2017, in Rijeka (Croatia) took place the Kick-Off meeting of the Just Sport – Fight against doping on grassroots level Project.

- Bulgarian Sports Development Association (Bulgaria);
- Municipio de Mirandela (Portugal);
- Vasterbottens Idrottsforbund – Swedish Sports Confederation (Sweden);
- CESIE (Italy).
The JUST SPORT project is co-funded by the Erasmus + Programme, Collaborative Partnership in field of Sport. The main aims of the project are to raise awareness of a whole lot of negative consequences of using supplements with harmful additives among young sportsmen in fitness centers and all beginners in grassroots level recreational sports.
JUST SPORT provides anti-doping education and prevention programmes fostering the fundamental values that underpin recreational activities and informing youth about moral, legal and health benefits of recreational activities.
Doping affects not only top athletes but also recreationists in fitness centres including young sportsmen at grassroots level, who may adopt an attitude either taking dietary supplements for faster muscular mass or stamina gain detrimental to their health. The fact they are Recreationists in fitness centres puts them beyond the horizon of doping control, or many other harmful attitudes and prejudices.
The initiative intends to reach the largest number of young people through a combination of training courses and intense media campaigns and raise awareness of the local community with respect to a healthy lifestyle through anti-doping and a healthy diet.
During the project implementation it will be also created a mobile application to map JUST SPORT healthy fitness centers and fitness experts. In this way in all the participating countries will be possible to identify the accredited fitness centers and take part in their initiatives.
To raise awareness on public opinion, some of the major local sports authorities partecipated in a press conference at the Rijeka City Hall. Some of the newspapers attending the event disclosed the results of the press conference by their informational channels.
The next meeting of the Partnership will be in Miradela (Portugal) in September 2017. The parteners will show the results of the research carried out and plan the activities for the future events in the various partner countries.
